First: It is not possible to obtain Turkish citizenship by purchasing a property that was owned by a foreigner with the same nationality as the foreigner who wants to buy the property now.

Example: If a foreigner with Iranian citizenship wants to buy a property in Turkey to obtain Turkish citizenship from a Turkish citizen, but the first owner of the property was also holding Iranian citizenship, the property will not be eligible to obtain it.

In this regard, it is important to point out that you can obtain Turkish citizenship by purchasing a property from a Turkish citizen who has previously bought it from a foreign citizen with a nationality different from your current one.

Second: It is not possible to obtain Turkish citizenship through a property that was previously used to obtain citizenship, even if three years have passed since the date of granting it.

Third: You must pledge the validity and integrity of all papers and documents that are submitted to obtain citizenship, and you must also pledge not to sell it before three years have passed since the date of its ownership.

 

Naturalization methods in Turkey:

Turkish citizenship can be obtained through several ways, which we will mention to you in detail below:

 

1 - Citizenship by Investment:

Investing is one of the most common and fastest ways to obtain Turkish citizenship, and it can be through one of the following six investment methods:

- Purchasing a real estate worth two hundred and fifty thousand US dollars and keeping it for three years.

- A bank deposit of five hundred thousand US dollars and a commitment not to withdraw any part of it before the lapse of three years.

- Financial investment with a financial value of not less than five hundred thousand US dollars for a period of three years.

- Purchasing bonds worth five hundred thousand US dollars on the condition that they are not sold before the lapse of three years.

- By creating a business and employing 50 Turkish employees.

- Turkish citizenship by investing in real estate funds with a value of no less than five hundred thousand US dollars.

In this context, we must refer to the amendments that occurred in the ways of obtaining Turkish citizenship through the following investment methods earlier, which brought the foreigner's interest.

- We mentioned earlier that the value of the property should have been one million US dollars instead of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

- The bank deposit should have been worth three million US dollars instead of five hundred thousand dollars.

- Instead of hiring 50 Turkish employees, as 100 should have been hired before.

-You will then obtain Turkish citizenship within three months from the date of applying for it.

It is obtained by the foreigner’s wife and children if they are not over the age of 18.

 

2 - Nationality by marriage:

Also, one of the ways to obtain it is to marry a citizen with Turkish citizenship, and this can be done whether a foreigner married a Turkish citizen, but it must be emphasized how serious this marriage is and that it is not only for the sake of obtaining it, so it is not granted until after the Three years.

The purpose of marriage must be to create a family, and also, the applicant must not pose a threat to national security.

 

3 - Nationality through work residency:

Turkish citizenship is granted to foreigners who obtain a work permit from the Ministry of Labor, under which they must stay in Turkey for five continuous years in Turkey without interruption.

He can leave Turkey for six months in some exceptional circumstances and he must prove his sincere intention to live and reside permanently in Turkey and have a sufficient source of income for himself and his family, and he must also have the ability to speak Turkish well.

These general conditions are also that must be met by any foreigner who will obtain citizenship, and add to them that he must not carry any communicable disease in order to maintain public health and safety, as well as he must not pose a threat to national security.

 

Documents required for naturalization in Turkey:
